Virtual Urgent Care

JetMED Provo -Virtual Urgent Care Provo is not for life-threatening symptoms, such as chest pain or serious bleeding. If you have these symptoms, call 911 immediately.

Virtual care visits (or telehealth visits) are becoming more prominent in the health care world. They offer patients a convenient, reliable, and cost-effective way to see a doctor for non-emergency health concerns. Using a video chat, a medical professional can assess a patient and provide treatment recommendations for a variety of conditions such as minor injuries, infections, or fevers, from the comfort of their own home.

With Hendrick Urgent Care Virtual Visits, you can connect with a board-certified provider via video chat on your smartphone or desktop. The visit starts with a simple questionnaire that helps the physician understand your symptoms. Typically, the visit lasts 15 minutes or less. Then, the physician will evaluate and diagnose the condition and recommend a course of action based on your individual needs.

If you or your child are suffering from a common cold, stomachache, ear infection, or a similar health concern, you can schedule an online urgent care appointment with a Columbia or Weill Cornell physician through our virtual Urgent Care service. To use this service, simply click on the link below and enter your details in the virtual waiting room.

Once you are in the waiting room, make sure that you have a Wi-Fi or data connection and a device with a camera (such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer). You will also need to download the MyMountSinai app on your phone. Once you’ve connected, you will be placed in a queue on a first come, first served basis to speak with the physician who can treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries.

You may be asked to provide an accurate list of your symptoms and any relevant health information to help the doctor determine what the best course of treatment will be. If necessary, the doctor will refer you to an in-person specialist or to an emergency department for further assessment. All telehealth appointments are recorded in your Epic MyChart account for easy reference by you and your primary care provider.

Hendrick Virtual Urgent Care is available for adult patients age 18 and older. Pediatric urgent care virtual visits are available for children age 5 and older. We accept most major insurance plans and have a self-pay option for uninsured patients.

What can I expect from a Virtual Urgent Care visit?

Virtual Urgent Care allows you to connect with a medical professional for non-emergency health issues from your home or work. The visits are conducted through a video call that uses your phone, tablet or computer with a high-speed internet connection. The doctor will evaluate your symptoms and recommend treatment options if needed. The doctor may also order lab work or X-rays and send prescriptions to your local pharmacy, if necessary. A virtual visit with a UH provider is an excellent option when your doctor’s office is closed or you can’t get an urgent care appointment quickly in person.

The process begins with a simple online check-in that includes answering questions about your symptoms and medical history. Then, you’ll be directed to a digital waiting room where your video call will begin. On average, a Virtual Urgent Care visit takes 15 minutes or less.

During the visit, it’s important to be in a quiet place with good lighting (don’t try to do your Virtual Urgent Care from your car!). It’s also recommended that you wear clothes that allow your provider to see the areas of your body they are examining. If you have a throat infection, for example, it’s helpful to have a friend help direct the camera or hold a flashlight up to your throat to help your provider look for any white coating on your tonsils.

After your visit, your doctor will write you a note that can be accessed through your MyChart account or sent to your regular healthcare provider. This is an excellent way for patients to stay in touch with their providers and keep track of all the care they receive, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If the doctor determines that your issue requires more extensive evaluation, they will advise you to come in for an in-person appointment at a UH urgent care location. You’ll be offered a same-day or next-day appointment at the closest convenient clinic. This ensures that your urgent care visit is as efficient as possible. In-person visits are also appropriate for people with life-threatening health conditions, including chest pain, difficulty breathing or significant bleeding.

How do I prepare for a Virtual Urgent Care visit?

Virtual Urgent Care is a safe and convenient way to get medical help for many non-emergency illnesses and injuries. If you or your child have a fever, cough, sore throat, earache, stomachache, minor injury or an infection, you can use telehealth to see one of our doctors. However, if you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, significant bleeding or any other life-threatening condition, please go to your nearest emergency room or call 911 immediately.

A telehealth visit allows you to connect with a UH doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant for non-emergency conditions like flu symptoms, sore throat, rashes and more via your Wi-Fi and video-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone. Visits are also appropriate for a range of other health issues, including diarrhea, vomiting and sinus pain.

To prepare for your telehealth visit, make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection and a device with a camera (computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet). It’s best to test your internet connection and close any other apps you don’t need during the appointment. You’ll also want to find a quiet, private space where you can talk confidentially.

Once you’re connected to a doctor, you can ask them about your symptoms and receive treatment as needed. They can prescribe medications, send them to your pharmacy and provide follow-up instructions. They can also refer you to a specialist for further testing or care, if necessary.

You can schedule your urgent care virtual visit through MyChart or using the eVisit mobile app for iPhone, iPad or Android phone. If you are a parent scheduling a virtual urgent care visit for your child, you will need proxy access to your child’s MyChart account. Please log in to your account and follow the instructions based on your child’s age to gain proxy access.

During the telehealth appointment, you will be asked to confirm your identity and insurance information. After a thorough medical history, the doctor will evaluate your symptoms and determine if they are urgent or not. The doctor will then recommend a treatment plan. If you are prescribed medication, you will be prompted to download the ePrescribe app, which will automatically send the prescription to your local pharmacy.

Virtual Urgent Care allows you to speak with a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant from the comfort of your home. Simply make an appointment online, enter the virtual waiting room and connect with a Geisinger provider via your Wi-Fi or video-enabled smartphone, tablet or computer. During the visit, your provider will discuss your symptoms and recommend treatment, if appropriate.

A Virtual Urgent Care visit is an excellent option if you have a medical concern that requires attention, but doesn’t require the same level of care as a traditional office visit or emergency room visit. This service is available to adults 18 and older. You can schedule your urgent care telehealth visit by visiting the eVisit website. After you select your preferred date and time, you will need to enter your insurance information and a valid driver’s license or government issued ID card number to verify your identity. You may also be asked to fill out a health history form.

During your visit, you will be connected to an urgent care provider through video chat, which is similar to calling a friend over the phone. The healthcare professional will review your symptoms, medical history and current health status. The visit may include a physical exam or laboratory tests, depending on your specific condition.

After the visit, you will receive instructions for next steps and discharge orders, if necessary. You can share a copy of your discharge order with your primary care provider or any other doctors you are working with through your eVisit account. In addition, your visit will be recorded and stored in Epic MyChart for future reference.

You can download the NYP Connect app on your smartphone or desktop to access Virtual Urgent Care and speak with an adult or pediatric emergency medicine doctor, seven days a week. During your urgent care visit, you will be able to save time by connecting directly to a doctor rather than visiting an urgent care clinic, and you can have blood work or x-rays ordered right from your home.

Virtual urgent care is a convenient, safe and efficient way to meet with a board-certified Weill Cornell or Columbia physician when you need immediate, quality medical attention. The virtual care experience allows you to stay home and get the care you need without leaving your house, and is an ideal solution for COVID-19 concerns, minor illnesses and injuries.
